As far as cleaning goes, nothing beats the ease of luxury vinyl flooring. It only takes a few simple maintenance steps to keep your flooring looking great for years to come. When cleaning luxury vinyl flooring, use a broom or vacuum to remove loose dirt. Damp-mop as needed with clean water and a nonabrasive floor cleaner.

A proper environment must be maintained, the temperature should not exceed 80 degrees F, the lower the humidity the better.

Keep window coverings closed during the day when there is heavy direct sunlight. Luxury vinyl floors can fade or get discolored if overexposed to the sun.

Place mats outside all entrances and exits and make sure to clean them on a regular basis. They will absorb soil and moisture and trap excessive dirt and grit. Do not use mats with rubber backing, as they can discolor the flooring.

When moving furniture, lift, don’t slide as it may buckle your new flooring. Chair pads or soft wheels must be used under any rolling type chairs. Felt pads must be placed under all furniture to help avoid damage. Avoid spike/stiletto high heels, and sharp or heavy objects as they can dent or scratch your new floor. House train pets and regularly trim their nails. Although extremely durable, extra precautions should be taken to avoid indentations and scratches.

Dealing with Stains & Spills

Spills should be cleaned up immediately. Floors should never be flooded with water or be allowed to have standing water. Never use vinegar, acetone, or lacquer thinner to clean these floors. Harsh cleaning chemicals should not be used on luxury vinyl flooring.
